An academic harmony conference was held at Mazenod College, Youhanabad, focusing on the significance of education within the Christian community and the evolving challenges and opportunities it presents. The event brought together pastors, clergy, educators, literary figures—including Urdu poet Nazir Qaiser and fiction writer Asif Imran—alongside professionals from various fields such as journalism and law.
The conference commenced at 5:00 PM with prayers and a recitation from the Holy Bible. This was followed by an introduction to the program, highlighting the college’s mission and its role in fostering academic excellence. Mazenod College, recognized for its commitment to modern education, continues to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for their academic and professional growth.
Founded by the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) and under the leadership of former superior Reverend Father Khan Polus and his team, Mazenod College has played a crucial role in advancing education in the region. Over a short span, the institution has contributed to the intellectual and professional development of many families.
During the event, students who have progressed to higher education institutions shared their experiences, emphasizing that while obstacles exist, institutions like Mazenod College provide the necessary encouragement and support to overcome them.
Guest speakers addressed the importance of education and its impact on the Christian youth, acknowledging the college’s role in academic and personal development. A short documentary showcasing the history of the college and success stories of former students was also presented.
Reverend Father Basharat Exupery, the institution’s current superior, expressed gratitude to the attendees for their participation and support. He urged them to spread awareness about Mazenod College among families facing financial or social barriers to education, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to accessible learning.
Following the conference, guests toured the college’s facilities, including well-equipped science laboratories, a modern computer lab, a library, and classrooms featuring LED technology. The event concluded with a communal meal, marking the successful culmination of an evening dedicated to academic and community development.
