Bishop Azad Marshall, Moderator and President Bishop of the Church of Pakistan, has joined global faith leaders in mourning the death of Pope Francis, calling it a profound moment of loss for the worldwide Church.

In a heartfelt statement, Bishop Marshall praised the late Pope’s humility, courage, and unwavering commitment to justice and human dignity.

“His humility, courage, and steadfast commitment to justice and the dignity of all people were a true reflection of Christ,”

Bishop Marshall said. “In his life and ministry, he embodied the Gospel—challenging the powerful, comforting the afflicted, and championing the marginalized.”

Pope Francis, who led the Roman Catholic Church since 2013, was widely respected for his inclusive leadership, social advocacy, and efforts to bring reform and renewal within the Church.

Bishop Marshall added, “We join millions around the world in mourning his passing and giving thanks for the extraordinary impact he made.”

He concluded his tribute with a message of hope and inspiration: “May his soul rest in peace and rise in glory. And may his legacy continue to inspire us all to walk faithfully in the light of Christ and serve the Gospel with compassion and courage.”
