The Civil Services Academy (CSA) Lahore is set to inaugurate a one-month residential orientation program aimed at preparing minority candidates for the Central Superior Services (CSS) examination. The initiative, part of the academy’s National Outreach Programme, will formally begin on Monday, July 7, at CSA’s Walton Campus.

The Federal Minister for Law and Justice is expected to attend the inaugural ceremony as chief guest. Other attendees will include senior officials from the Establishment Division, parliamentarians, community leaders, and representatives from civil society.

Titled “Empowering Minority CSS Aspirants in Pakistan’s Central Superior Services (CSS),” the program will provide academic support, mentorship, and structured training to 45 minority aspirants selected from across the country.

The effort comes amid ongoing concerns about the underrepresentation of minorities in Pakistan’s civil services. While the Constitution guarantees equal opportunities and quotas are reserved for minority candidates, recent statistics show that only 16 candidates qualified out of 121 seats designated for minorities in the latest Special CSS Examination.

CSA officials stated that the program aims to address systemic challenges faced by minority candidates through targeted guidance and institutional backing. The initiative aligns with the broader objective of promoting inclusivity and merit in public service.

According to CSA, the launch event will also function as a platform for dialogue on expanding equitable access to civil services and ensuring that Pakistan’s bureaucracy better reflects its social and cultural diversity.
