Manchester, UK – In a bid to explore how data collection can unlock the potential of the Pakistani Christian community in the UK, a significant gathering took place in Manchester on July 12th, 2024. The event was organized by Adan Farhaj, Director of International Relations for Pak Christians in Italy (PCI) and overseas President of PMRC, alongside his core team members Mr. Javed Yousaf and Sabir Aziz. The meeting also featured peace activist Esther Das.
The event attracted a diverse group of local leaders who were keen to understand how data could be harnessed to amplify the community’s voice, enhance its engagement within the UK, and strengthen ties with Pakistan. The central theme revolved around the potential of data to identify and address the community’s needs more effectively, thereby facilitating better integration and representation.
Adan Farhaj opened the discussion by highlighting the crucial role that data can play in understanding the demographic and socio-economic challenges faced by the Pakistani Christian community. “Data is a powerful tool that can help us map out our community’s landscape, identify key areas of need, and develop targeted strategies to address them,” he said.
Peace activist Esther Das emphasized the importance of using data to advocate for the community’s rights and improve access to essential services. “With accurate data, we can make informed decisions, advocate more effectively for our community, and ensure that our voices are heard at all levels of government,” she stated.
The meeting saw active participation from various community leaders, who shared their insights and experiences. They discussed how data-driven approaches could enhance educational opportunities, healthcare access, and economic empowerment for the Pakistani Christian community in the UK.
Initial discussions were met with enthusiasm, as participants recognized the potential of data to drive meaningful change. The event concluded with a commitment to further explore and develop data collection initiatives. The organizers announced that follow-up steps would be taken soon to implement the strategies discussed.
As the Pakistani Christian community looks ahead, the focus on data-driven approaches marks a significant step towards fostering greater inclusion, representation, and development.
