Faisalabad: More than 400 patients received free medical treatment at a camp organized by the Al-Barkat Foundation at Dawood Chowk, Madina Town. The initiative offered consultations, medicines, and diagnostic services to underprivileged residents of the area.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Salamat, District Coordinator of the Institute for the International United for Human Rights (IUDHR), USA. Speaking at the event, he commended the foundation’s efforts and highlighted the importance of community-based healthcare programs.
A team of specialists, including general physicians, physiotherapists, clinical psychologists, gynecologists, and nutritionists, examined patients throughout the day. Free medicines were provided, along with diagnostic tests for hepatitis and diabetes. Organizers said the aim was to make basic healthcare accessible to those unable to afford regular medical services.
Al-Barkat Foundation’s leadership, including Chief Executive Mirza Muhammad Jameel, President Rana Muhammad Usman, Vice President Dr. Sohail Afzal, Finance Secretary Iqra Mahmood, Joint Secretary Rana Muhammad Aamir, Information Secretary Abrar Ahmed, and Communication Secretary Dr. Abdul Rasheed, attended the event. Representatives from Lahore Lab also supported the camp by facilitating tests.
Community members welcomed the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward addressing local healthcare needs. Organizers said similar camps would continue to be arranged in the future to promote welfare and public health.
