Lahore, Pakistan:
On August 2, 2024, Ejaz Alam Augustine, Member of the Provincial Assembly Punjab and Chairman of the Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Standing Committee, held a significant meeting with delegates from the U.S. Department of State. The delegation included Harrison Akins, Foreign Affairs Officer; Lauren C. Laskowski, Foreign Affairs Officer for Democracy and Human Rights; and Tona L. Muffird, Unit Chief for International Religious Freedom. The meeting was also attended by Salman Choudhary and Yishia Augustine.
The discussions focused on key issues concerning human rights and the protection of minorities in Pakistan. Both parties emphasized the importance of international cooperation and support to uphold religious freedom and combat discrimination against minority communities.
In addition to his meeting with U.S. State Department officials, Ejaz Alam Augustine also engaged with representatives from the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) during his visit to the United States. This meeting aimed at fostering collaboration and sharing strategies to defend religious liberty and human rights.
