It’s a day to celebrate the achievements of women and to reflect on the challenges they continue to face in various facets of life. In Pakistan, as in many parts of the world, women have historically encountered barriers that hinder their progress and limit their opportunities. However, the tide is turning, and the call for gender balance and equality is growing louder than ever.
It’s time to debunk the misconception that women’s issues are insignificant or secondary to those of men. In every sphere of society, from the workplace to the home, women have long been relegated to subordinate roles, denied the same privileges and opportunities afforded to men. But as we move further into the 21st century, there is a palpable shift towards dismantling these barriers and creating a more equitable world for all.
Personal Inspiration:
For me, like many others, my greatest source of inspiration is my mother. She not only gave me life but also instilled in me the values of perseverance, resilience, and compassion. Her unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in shaping my journey, both personally and professionally. Through her example, I have learned the importance of valuing oneself and striving for one’s full potential.
Professional Perspectives:
On this International Women’s Day, it’s crucial to listen to the voices of women from various walks of life. Nimra Asmat, an educationist, rightly emphasizes the need to recognize and celebrate the contributions of women to society. Their achievements are just as significant as those of men, and it’s time they are held in the same esteem.

Message to Young Girls and Women:
To the young girls and women of Pakistan, I say this: believe in yourselves and your dreams. Do not be afraid to challenge the status quo and pursue your aspirations with determination. Education is your greatest weapon, so invest in it wholeheartedly. Support other women and work together to create a more equitable world for all. Your voice matters, and your achievements are worth celebrating. Stay resilient, stay determined, and never doubt your worth or potential.
