An incident of vandalism was reported at Feroz Din Memorial Church in Kot Radha Kishan Tehsil of district Kasur, Punjab, where an unidentified individual allegedly damaged church property during the night between 12:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. on January 5, 2026.

According to initial information, the alleged attacker illegally entered the church premises by breaking a window. Inside the building, the individual reportedly desecrated copies of the Holy Bible by tearing them into pieces, damaged the church’s sound system and other belongings, and bent the Holy Cross installed at the church. The acts were described as deliberate and carried out in a disrespectful manner.

Following the incident, Pastor-in-charge of the church, Tariq Masih, lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at Kot Radha Kishan Police Station on January 5 against unknown attackers.

Speaking to The White Post, Pastor Tariq Masih shared details of the incident and appreciated the response of law enforcement agencies. He said that the timely action taken by the police and concerned authorities was satisfactory for the church community. He further stated that after an investigation, police arrested a suspected individual who allegedly confessed to the act.

According to the pastor, the suspect claimed that he had been involved in a fight with some Christian acquaintances the previous night and, after being beaten, carried out the attack on the church in retaliation.

Pastor Tariq Masih urged the authorities to ensure justice, emphasizing that the desecration of the Holy Bible and the Holy Cross had deeply hurt the sentiments of the Christian community. He also called for measures to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future and that the community feels safe and protected.

Dawood Sharif Sahotra, a representative of the Punjab Minister for Minorities, also commented on the incident. He termed the act unfortunate but said that swift police action helped contain the situation.

He also confirmed that the FIR was registered promptly, a forensic team conducted an on-site investigation, and a suspect was arrested.

He added that the Superintendent of Police (SP) was personally involved in the case and remained present with the local Christian community throughout the day, starting from the early morning hours.

Police officials have stated that further investigation is ongoing and that legal proceedings will continue in accordance with the law.
