Lahore:
In recognition of outstanding service, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, presented an appreciation certificate to Nafees Raza, a Christian communication officer at the Virtual Liaison Center. The award was given for Raza’s professional response during a surprise evaluation conducted by Dr. Anwar, who tested the center’s effectiveness by calling as a regular citizen.
The ceremony, held at the Central Police Office, underscored the dedication and inclusiveness within Punjab’s law enforcement. Dr. Anwar praised Raza’s swift and precise handling of public inquiries, remarking that his professionalism reflects the high standards the police aim to uphold. Dr. Anwar noted, “Officers like Nafees Raza exemplify dedication and professionalism, regardless of their background or faith.”
This recognition is part of a broader initiative to strengthen trust between law enforcement and the public, a mission that the Virtual Liaison Center actively supports. Established at the Safe City Headquarters in Qurban Lines, the Virtual Meesaq Center facilitates communication and service for Punjab’s minority communities. Dr. Anwar highlighted the center’s critical role, as it receives hundreds of inquiries from minority citizens daily, with officers like Raza working around the clock to provide prompt support.
In his address, Dr. Anwar emphasized the importance of vigilance in ensuring the safety and security of minority citizens. Alongside Dr. Anwar at the ceremony were MD Safe City Authority Ahsan Younis and RPO Faisalabad Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan, who also extended their support for this initiative aimed at reinforcing community trust and safety across Punjab.
