Lahore, June 19, 2024: Ruth Abdia, a retired government teacher and respected member of the Martinpur ‘Siyaan’ family, passed away on June 19, 2024, at the age of 66.
Ruth Abdia was the wife of Prof. Abdia Elvin and the mother of six children, including three daughters and three sons. Born in 1958, she was the daughter of Feroz Masih and grew up with her five siblings—two sisters and three brothers. She received her early education at the Missionary School in Martinpur.
With a teaching career spanning 32 years, Ruth Abdia dedicated her life to education at the Girls High School Walton in Lahore. Her commitment to her profession and her students earned her great respect and admiration.
Ruth Abdia was known for her devout faith and compassionate nature. She was always ready to assist those in need, embodying the spirit of generosity and kindness.
She is survived by her six children, with two residing with her and four settled abroad. Ruth Abdia was laid to rest at the Christian graveyard on Jail Road, Lahore, on Saturday. Rev. Qamar of FC College led the funeral prayers.
May her soul rest in eternal peace.
