Brussels, 4— A delegation of Pakistani Christians living in Belgium and the Netherlands met with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) in Brussels today to discuss human rights issues facing their community in Pakistan. The delegation included Latif Bhatti, Watson Gill, Bishop Arshad Khokhar, Azeem Masih, Moon Samuel, and Yaqoob Masih.
The group presented a petition detailing the persecution and human rights violations that Christians in Pakistan endure. They called on the European Parliament to advocate for the protection of religious minorities in Pakistan.
MEP Bert Yan, along with other MEPs, including Valeriu Ghiletchi, participated in the meeting. They joined the delegation in a prayer, seeking divine intervention for peace and justice.
Yan assured the delegation of his support and committed to raising these issues within the European Parliament. He emphasized the need to defend human rights and religious freedom, pledging to advocate for the Pakistani Christian community.
