News Peshawar, August 11:
To commemorate Pakistan’s National Minority Day, a special event was held at the historic Kalabari Mandir in Peshawar, celebrating the country’s cultural diversity, interfaith harmony, and the contributions of minority communities.
The gathering was organized by Youth Peace Ambassador, led by human rights activist Yasir Bhatti, in collaboration with Global Shapers Peshawar headed by Mr. Shahab-u-Din. The members of minority communities, including Nisha Kaur, advisor representing the Sikh community, and Raveena Haroon, representative of the Hindu community, joined the celebration.
The program highlighted the importance of unity and mutual respect among Pakistan’s diverse faith groups. Speakers paid tribute to the role minority communities have played in the social, cultural, and economic development of the country.
Addressing the participants, Yasir Bhatti emphasized that the vision of Pakistan can only be realized through equality and respect for all citizens.
“Our strength lies in our diversity. National Minority Day reminds us that every citizen—regardless of religion or background—has an equal stake in Pakistan’s future,” Bhatti said. “We must work together to create a society where every voice is heard and every community thrives.”
The event concluded with an expression of solidarity among the participants and a reaffirmation of their shared commitment to promoting peace, tolerance, and inclusivity across the country.
