Sialkot, April 29, 2025:
A newly constructed international-standard football ground, made with recycled materials, was inaugurated at the Government Elementary School Heer in Sialkot on Tuesday. The project, completed by the Sudhaar Society under the “Move For the Planet” (MFTP) initiative, also includes seating arrangements for 200 spectators.
The development was completed in collaboration with the District Education Authority (DEA) Sialkot within four months. An official inauguration and handing-over ceremony marked the project’s completion, attended by key officials and community members.
Prominent attendees included Member Punjab Assembly and Chairman Land Authority Punjab, Mr. Tariq Subhani; CEO DEA Sialkot, Mr. Mujahid Hussain Alvi; CEO Sudhaar Society, Mr. Nadeem Iqbal; Dy. DEO Sialkot, Mr. Iftikhar Sahi; Assistant Education Officer, Mr. Tayyab; and several community leaders, local representatives, and residents.
Sudhaar Society CEO, Mr. Nadeem Iqbal, stated that the organization has been working for three decades to improve children’s access to basic education. He highlighted that this project integrates climate change adaptation by utilizing approximately 50% recycled materials, including eco-building blocks and plastic seating. The facility is expected to serve over 3,000 users monthly.
Mr. Mujahid Hussain Alvi praised the initiative, emphasizing the DEA’s commitment to maintaining the facility. “We will ensure its safety and upkeep,” he said.
Addressing the ceremony, MPA Mr. Tariq Subhani called the project a “revolutionary step” for a traditionally underserved area. He appreciated the environmental and educational impact of the initiative, acknowledging the role of community involvement in its success.
A formal signing between Sudhaar Society and the DEA marked the handover of the facility. The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting and the distribution of appreciation certificates to School Management Committee members, staff, and local supporters.
The project aims to combine sustainable development with youth engagement, offering a model for future community-centered educational infrastructure.
