Lahore: The Steadfast Youth Network, in collaboration with the Youth Ambassador Fellowship, organized a youth leadership program titled “Unlocking Youth Potential: Leadership for Peace, Wellness & Global Engagement” at the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of the Punjab.
The program opened with remarks from Steadfast Youth Network Founder Luqman Ahmad Khan, who highlighted the need to equip young people with leadership skills, emotional resilience, and perspectives that promote peace and constructive citizenship.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayyum Chaudhary, Director IER, delivered the keynote address on “Unlocking Youth Potential for a Better Tomorrow.” He emphasized the role of education in shaping socially responsible, globally aware youth and underscored the responsibility of universities in fostering leadership development.
A session on mental health and emotional well-being was conducted by Ms. Ummara Khalid, MD Paradigm Plus PK and Public Mental Health Practitioner. Her talk, titled “Building Resilient Minds for Leadership,” provided guidance on stress management and emotional wellness as essential components of effective leadership.
A peace-focused panel discussion featured Dr. Wajahat Ali, Member, Centre for Alternative Perspectives; Ms. Tehreem Saeed Arain, Senior Officer and Research Associate, Centre for Critical Peace Studies (UMT); and Mr. Murad Yaseen, Chairman, Human Rights Protection Network. The panelists discussed youth contributions to peacebuilding, civic engagement, and community development, emphasizing the need for active participation in fostering harmony and social cohesion.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Khaliq Ahmad, Co-Founder of Steadfast Youth Network, who reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to youth empowerment through leadership training, advocacy, human rights awareness, and global engagement opportunities.
The program highlighted ongoing efforts to support Pakistan’s youth in developing the skills and mindset necessary for positive social impact at both national and international levels.
