The “Subh-e-Nau” project, launched by the Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP) and a consortium of partners, has received strong support from USAID as a promising initiative aimed at empowering communities at the grassroots level. U.S. Consul General Christine Hawkins and USAID Mission Director Kate Sowongsiri attended the event, held at a local marquee, to endorse the project. In her address, Sowongsiri commended LPP and its partners, describing “Subh-e-Nau” as a vital program for social development.
The consortium behind “Subh-e-Nau” includes Signify Consulting, Pelican Development Organization (PDO), Centre for Public Policy and Governance (CPPG), and Chanan Development Association (CDA). Together, they aim to build the capacity of local residents to contribute meaningfully to their communities’ development. Dr. Abdul Saboor, CEO of LPP, highlighted the project’s focus on serving and uplifting underprivileged communities, noting that it seeks to promote a stable society through grassroots engagement and empowerment.
Speaking at the event, MPA and Parliamentary Secretary for Education Ajmal Chandia underscored the importance of such initiatives, emphasizing that the themes within the “Subh-e-Nau” project are relevant to contemporary needs. Chandia pledged support for projects that foster positive social impact and community development.
Zain Baloch, CEO of Signify Consulting, expressed commitment on behalf of USAID, LPP, Signify, and partner organizations to align their efforts with local aspirations, focusing on community-driven growth. He noted that the collaboration with Pakistani civil society organizations is a testament to USAID’s dedication to empowering communities to shape their futures.
The event attracted a diverse gathering of social, religious, and political leaders from Multan, Bahawalpur, and Lodhran, along with educators and other community stakeholders. Attendees participated in a panel discussion on the program’s objectives, followed by a cultural performance celebrating local heritage.
The “Subh-e-Nau” project stands as a collaborative effort to equip residents with the tools and knowledge to foster sustainable development, reinforcing USAID’s support for Pakistan’s civil society and community-driven initiatives.
