A three-day workshop addressing ecological crises and climate change challenges in Pakistan concluded on Sunday at the Lahore YMCA. The event was organized by the Lahore YMCA in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Alliance of YMCAs and the Interfaith Cooperation Forum.

The workshop aimed to explore youth-led solutions to environmental issues and included activities such as tree plantation drives and discussions on creating cleaner, greener environments.

The concluding ceremony was chaired by Asghar Suleman, President of Lahore YMCA, and attended by Director John William and Program Secretary Irum Nelson. The resource persons conducting the sessions included Baiddio Manalasal, Program Officer for the Interfaith Cooperation Forum from South Korea, Nam Boo Won, General Secretary of the Asia Pacific Alliance of YMCAs, Santoshi Wagle from Nepal, Probin Tripura from Bangladesh, and Lahore YMCA General Secretary Emanuel Sarfraz.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Sarfraz emphasized the importance of youth-driven initiatives to combat the growing ecological crises in Pakistan. He also highlighted the severe impact of climate change on the country, including the worsening smog problem, underscoring Pakistan’s vulnerability as one of the world’s most affected nations.

He announced plans to extend similar workshops to other cities, including Karachi, Sialkot, and Islamabad, in the near future to further raise awareness and foster collective action.
