A delegation of young leaders from the Institute for Social and Youth Development (ISYD) and Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) met with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to discuss youth empowerment, social change, and collaborative initiatives in the province. The meeting, hosted by former Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Sania Kamran of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), focused on expanding youth-led efforts in key areas such as gender-based violence (GBV), peacebuilding, digital literacy, and climate action.
Led by social activist Joshua Dilawar, the delegation highlighted how young people are using technology, startups, fashion, arts, and culture to address pressing social issues. The discussion emphasized the role of artistic mediums, including theatre, storytelling, and digital art, in challenging societal taboos and fostering positive behavioral change. ISYD presented its creative approach to community education, while ITA showcased its programs under Aawaz-II, PLP, and Young Omang, which aim to strengthen youth and community engagement.
Governor Kundi commended the efforts of youth-led organizations, acknowledging their role in shaping a progressive society. He stressed the importance of investing in the province’s young population, particularly in technology-driven initiatives. “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a significant youth bulge with immense talent. We must invest and trust in them to create a stronger, more empowered Pakistan,” he stated.
Sania Kamran praised the delegation for its dedication to social change and reaffirmed her support for initiatives promoting youth leadership, women’s empowerment, interfaith harmony, and social cohesion.
The meeting concluded with a group photo and a token of appreciation presented to the Governor. The engagement is seen as a step toward strengthening partnerships between youth-led organizations and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, paving the way for impactful, long-term change in the region’s youth and social development landscape.
