Kasur, Punjab, June 22, 2026:

A 40-year-old Christian laborer, identified as Siddique Masih, was killed following an alleged workplace dispute at a brick kiln in Kasur District, Punjab, on June 22.

According to police and local reports, the incident began with an argument between Siddique Masih and a Muslim co-worker over wages. Later the same day, the dispute reportedly escalated near a water cooler, where the suspect allegedly objected to Siddique drinking from the same cooler because he was a Christian.

Authorities said the suspect allegedly attacked Siddique Masih with a knife, causing fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have arrested the primary suspect along with several other individuals as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials stated that further inquiries are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and whether additional charges will be filed.

The killing has prompted concern among Christian leaders and human rights advocates, who have called for a thorough investigation, accountability for those responsible, and stronger measures to protect religious minorities from discrimination and violence in Pakistan.
